Our childhood has a great influence on the adults we become, the way we were treated, stimulated and instigated. I very much see the influence that Deutsche Schule Curitiba had on my life, even today, 16 years later, as a certified physician.
I studied at Deutsche Schule Curitiba for eight years (2000-2008) and was in the first elementary school class. We watched the school grow with us and each year we broke new ground. We were the oldest in the school and had been with the teachers the longest, so we had a special relationship with them. Certainly each one of them was essential to our formation. The teaching staff was precisely one of the reasons why I loved studying there as a child, as well as the trees, the methodology and the family feeling that the school nurtured. I have always had a solid base in learning Portuguese, Maths and German, which helped me throughout my academic education. I was also very stimulated on the artistic and creative side, with art projects, visits to museums, theatres, among many other wonderful experiences I had: such as my first exchange experience at just 10 years old. It was at Deutsche Schule Curitiba that I made my first friends – who are my best friends to this day – and it was there that I learnt lessons that I will carry with me for life.
